Perhaps a bigger issue is the chance of rust, etc

Perhaps I did not phrase my question well. I am comfortable with the care and maintenance of firearms.
Having read that Parker ejectors are complex, somewhat fragile, and difficult to repair, is it best to store one's ejector gun closed- 1. action closed hammers cocked, 2. action closed, dry fired (thus the ejectors would be under tension) or 3. some other way ie. barrels separated from frame? I plan to use and hunt with this gun regularly and want to ensure that longevity of its parts and function are not compromised by inadequate knowledge on my part. Thank you. I don't believe it really matters, regarding spring tension et. al.

I agree with Dean. However, I use snap caps just 'cause they're cool
