Default Parker Fair Market valuations west coast

I have inherited three Parker Bros Shotguns in very good condition with general info as follows:

DHE-3, 16 gauge hammerless, Titanic steel barrels 28” with ejectors, 6lbs, 9 oz., LOP 13 ¾”. Mfg. date 1906, Serial #1365XX.

CHE-4, 12 gauge, Acme steel barrels 28” with ejectors, 7 lbs. 7 oz. Mfg. date 1916. Serial #1724XX.

DHE-3, 12 gauge, 30” Damascus steel barrels with ejectors, 7.5 to 7.75 lbs. LOP 14 ¼”. Serial #566XX.

My situation is I’ve never owned a shotgun in my life and know little to nothing about them. I am interested in maybe selling them but I’m concerned about my lack of knowledge resulting in my falling prey to someone and being taken advantage of. I am seeking a knowledgeable Parker Bros. person to inspect and give me an evaluation of each gun, for a fee of course. I need someone on the west coast or Pacific NW area where I can drive the guns to where they can inspect them. I’m not interested in shipping them away. I live in Vancouver Washington just over the Columbian River from Portland Oregon.

Can anyone help me with recommendations?

In the future might I suggest you give all but the LAST two digits of the seriel number . For instance 137,9xx or 137,xxx . The last two or three digits are the ones to worry about if you don't want someone to know the number .

Just my opinion .

I think your approach to receiving a fair price on the sale of your guns is great. I have participated in similar situations in the SE with the stipulation that the person evaluating the guns is precluded from purchasing them. I wish I knew someone in you area but do not.
Good Luck

Sounds like 3 neat guns. Do yourself a favor and spend the $40 to join the club, then when you determine what the fair market value is, you can post them in the for sale section here (members only). There are more people looking to buy Parkers here than anywhere else on the net. I hope we get a chance to see them!!

You have a good sounding group of guns there that could be worth $5,000 as a group or could be worth $15,000 as a group.

Best to have them evaluated by someone who knows better to make sure you do not short change yourself if you decide to sell.

Mr. Deal
Welcome to the PGCA. Part of your research to determine value might include ordering a PGCA research letter and since you are a PGCA member, the price is right reasonable.

Not sure how close he would be to you, but David Fjeline is a forum member who lives out that way. I have done business with him and found him to be fair and many consider him to be knowledgeable. He is getting ready to head to the southern when I spoke with him yesterday, but you can give him a holer.

Fjelline is a very knowledgable honest man. He lives in N. California, Lincoln to be exact.

If you post good quality photos of each gun from a variety of angles, the members here will probably be able to give you a good idea of reasonable fair market value.
