Default First VHE

What was the first VHE made? Gauge and year. I am sure this has been asked before but I can not find it in a search.

Ejectors were introduced in 1901, and the V grade was the field model.

I would think that there would have been one build relatively soon after introduction.

If the serialization book shows 1907, then I would wager missing records.

the first VH from what i remember was 88,000 something and it predated ejectors.

Didn't the 1907 Pine cone catalog indicate that SAEs were not available for the lower three grades but the 1909 one did offer them as a special order item? Brian, as you said the serialization book lists 7? stock books missing from the period being discussed. A lot of order books to look through?

I am looking at 142563 it has a buffed frame and a lot of the parts are hot blued. Was restocked with a BTFE. The restock is actually pretty good the checkering is not correct but still a decent job.
