They have been advertising new non-tox shot. Not sure if it is steel or bismuth though.

According to the web site rioammo(dot)com they are producing both steel and bismuth loads in 12 gauge and 20 gauge.

The new shot you're thinking of is the Fiocchi Tundra. I've heard absolutely nothing about it, it came out a couple years ago. It's expensive, only slightly cheaper than Kent, at least the last time I checked.

I'm new at this so forgive me if my protocol is not quite right, but I am trying to find out if shooting 3", 1 1/4oz Bismuth in my 12ga will be OK. I have always shot 2 3/4", 1 1/4 oz, 3 1/4 dram bismuth but it's hard to find (not at Cabelas any more). My gun is frame size "2" (although it looks like some exponent-like marking to the right of the "2"), so it seems like a big-framed 12ga. Barrels are marked "Titanic Steel" so it's a grade DH by the website chart. Wt. of barrels is 4 with an "exponent" of 5. Looks to be in great condition. Expect to shoot maybe 200 rounds a year. If anybody can help me out, would sure appreciate it.

Peter: The simple answer is NO in my opinion your gun is safe for 2 3/4" shells of reasonable pressure not 3"!! Rio now loads Bismuth in 2 3/4". Check out the link below. Better yet learn to handload low pressure bismuth loads or check out RST offering of niceshot.

Thank you VERY much (could have saved my gun). I'll check out the site you suggested and perhaps I'll try the loading too.
