Default ejector forend question

I recently picked up a GHE 12 ga . In order to latch the forend it is necessary to open the action. It appears that the ejector stems are pushing against the ejector shoes and by opening the gun it alows the ejectors to move forward and the forend snaps in place. When the gun is closed evidently the leverage pushes the ejector shoes back a little and the forend remains in place. Everything seems to work normally but I was worried that this may be putting stress on the ejector mechanism or the forend loop. Is this normal or should it be adjusted?
