Default Chain Damascus

Something that I have oftened wondered is whether Parker ever used chain damascus barrels. I have never seen a picture of or mention of them. I kind of find that surprising, in that they were used by other high quality US makers who used other Damascus patterns that look identical to the barrels being imported by Parker. The chain barrels seem to be very popular with collectors. I personally have always really liked their look, more so than other higher grade damascus patterns. I have no idea of their relative quality just their look and apparent rarity.

I like the pattern, too. I have a couple of Smith grade 4s that have it.

If there is such a Parker I think Drew Hause would have a picture of it. I just searched my entire picture file and I don't have one.

I've never seen a Parker Bros. gun with Chain Damascus barrels.

I have an early BE-Grade Remington with the CHAIN J Damascus barrels. The Remington Arms Co. catalogs all say the B-/BE-Grades came with three-stripe Damascus barrels.

I have seen a price list for wholesale Damascus and Twist barrels, the Chain Damascus was priced higher than Crolle Damascus and less than the highest priced Bernard barrels. I have tried to locate the vintage price list and have been unable to find it. The Chain Damascus was a higher end offering.
