Default Baby Cape Gun

Purchased online, expected something larger. I don't think it weighs 7 lbs. 16ga. X ?. Maybe 9.3 X 72R? Not much luck with German proof marks. Built by H. Scherping. Looks like he made a nice product. Any information would be appreciated.

Cute gun. If it's a 9.3mm, likely you'll find the bore info 118/35 on the barrel somewhere. This won't tell you Which 9.3, but it will get you in the neighborhood.
Refer to the table on the German Gun Collectors Assoc. tech page;

It is always best to make a Cerrosafe chamber cast of these rifle barrels. And be sure to include a bit of the bore/leade for measurement. God only knows what the actual specs are ... or what they may have been modified to over the years. With a cast, you can measure and know the actual situation.

Nice gun nonetheless. And the German Collectors will have a trove of knowledge.
