I have hammer lifter, gun,serial #2074- 30" de carbonized steel barrels. What I am asking,what was the color of the barrels? Blue, Brown or the origional steel color?
All serials match/

henry i have a lifter with 40xx serial no it has the plain steel barrel and so marked..it is blue and i believe origanal to the gun... charlie

I was just wondering,as I can find no trace of blue or brown.The barrells are plain, got me baffeled no sign of buffing. Are yours the deep blue or the more black ?

The blue is probably just completely worn off them, it does happen in over 100 years of handling and cleaning.
