Calvin I find that I don't have any photos of the frame engraving but he brought this shot gun to hunt prairie grouse in Nebraska and here are a couple photos from then.

Just one of many adventures.

On the C Bernard vent rib, the top and bottom ribs and the vent rib are all of Bernard sheet stock. That is the usual, that you will see ribs made of the same composite material as the barrels, but sometimes you will see fluid steel sheet stock used in the ribs.

The first is the line up of guns used by the five of us, all 12ga, left to right ,C Bernard hammer, CHE Bernard vent rib, GHE, DHE, near new Trojan.

The second is the CHE Bernard vent rib with a prairie chicken. These are all wild birds....you can't pen raise grouse.

nice line up Bruce.

as for the vent rib CHE -- for so early in the hammerless production - that is really a show piece

makes one wonder if that was the purpose. Is there a letter on it? it would have made quite a display item or a attention getting new model gun to be publicized by a well known shooter.

Bruce, can you share the research letter with us? It is obviously done by Parker Bros... the question is "When?"
