Default 1902 DH Grade with Dog's Head Buttplate?

Did the factory ever produce such a gun or is it a restoration substitution?

Paul in Houston

Paul, We have seen several D grade guns with DHBP's that were factory done. While they are uncommon I wouldn't think they are what you would call rare.

I would think the dhbp on a DH grade or higher should be considered a customer specified feature.

My friend's DHBP DH is a 212,000 gun for which no order book notation is available, unfortunately.
