Answer is PROBABLY: That price may be on the high side, and, the good fellows here see a lot of guns, and have a world of experience. A 16 gauge 30" VHE with 30% case colors is most likely worth that, but there are so, so many things that can hurt value, none of the fellows on here would stick his neck out to say "Yea or Nay."
If you can look at the gun, check for dings, dents in the barrels; cracks in the wood, make sure the ribs are not loose, that the gun is "on face." Experienced guys like Bruce Day can see things in 10 seconds that a novice may not notice until he has owned the gun for a year. (Apologies to Bruce for using his name.) If you can't get pictures, it's a tough call. But, part of the adventure of buying a Parker. Sam Ogle, Lincoln NE |

Sam, there are many much more qualified than me. I appreciate your friendship but I am just an enthusiast with a modest collection.
Merry Christmas to all Parker friends. |

Tom,
To me a price of $3200 is real money. For such purchases I seak guidance from local Parker collectors. If a local purchase I might ask one or more of them to go with me. If you lived in Michigan I could introduce you to my mentors or if I felt qualified, I'd help you myself. Since your profile does not list your location I cannot help you on that. Good luck, Mark |

For me $3200 is high because the butt pad is a turn off for me. Very unlikely it was ordered on a 16 gauge. Wood may have been cut also to add the pad?
Don't be just tuned in on remaining color and bluing as the most important part is the barrels, meaning the chambers and the bore. Most pitting removed with reaming is just in front of the chambers, so even a shotgun with remaining choke doesn't mean the bores and chambers haven't been messed with. If you can't have the bores and chambers measured, it's nothing but quessing on the value. Bill |

Mark,
Thank you and all of the others for the replies. I do live in Michigan. While I have only been a member for a short time I am very pleased to associate with fellow enthusiasts such as youselves. I have been told that there is another buyer so I have passed on the gun. I currently have two dhe reproductions a 20 and a 28 gauge. I am chomping at the bit for a true piece of "The Parker Story". I have a 1930 Fox but nothing feels as good as Parker to me. What I really want is a nice GHE or DHE in both 12 and 16 gauge to round things out. Thanks again, Tom |

You'll never round things out.
