Question 2-6 Frame Size?

I picked up a 1901 12 Ga P grade in beautiful tight shape for a fun gun and then noticed the 4#7oz barrels and a small "6" behind the #2 (frame stamping) on the rear lug. That is heavy for a #2 frame so I expect this is an in-between frame size. I have had a lot of Parkers but have not seen this before. Any comments? Thanks.

Some think that little 6 on the lug is an inspectors mark, and others think it may indicate the gun was targetted with #6 shot instead of the normal #8s. It is still a 2-frame. At least those are the answers I've gotten. My Father's old 1902-vintage, 2-frame, 30-inch, 12-gauge, VH-Grade, waterfowl gun, has the little 6 on the lug next to the 2. It also has the Kf mark of Charles King on the barrel flat and a 4 3 weight mark.

I have an 1889-vintage, 2-frame, 12-gauge, GH-Grade, that weighs a fraction of an ounce over nine pounds and the weight mark on those barrels is 5 8. Those barrels are very straight with very little "swamp." Both, 2-frame, 12-gauge guns.

This one has a capital "T" circled on the flats and also a small "c". Thanks for your info.
