Default Quail Plantation Recommendations

I am looking for an adventure for my wife and I, which combines 2 trains of thought for our 40th. My wife would like to go somewhere and be pampered a bit. If I have to go along (which I think I must), I would like to experience some outdoor activities.

Therefore, looking for recommendations for a traditional southern quail plantation hunt. Looking for an all inclusive with fine cuisine, lodging, the mule driven wagon, horses, the works. I understand the hunting will be over pen-raised birds.

Hoping someone here has some experiences they can share instead of picking through the myriad of internet options. I am thinking SC or GA is most likely.

You can post here or send me a PM if you have had positive experiences somewhere.

Dean you should contact Scott Gentry. Scott is a member here who goes down to South Georgia every year to do this very thing. I know Mills Morrison also hunts a plantation in South Georgia as well.

https://huntsouthwind.com/

My Grandson was there a few days ago and said he killed 60 birds in two hunts.

Dean,

Rio Piedra and Southwind. Contact me if needed. Would be happy to go into detail on both.

I recommend (2) days at each. Stop at Thomasville on the way and visit Kevin's.

Thanks,

Bobby

I agree. There are 2 southwinds down here within 45 minutes of each other so be sure to pick the one on the link above if you want the royal treatment.

My wife and I enjoyed three consecutive years of hunting at Pine Hill Plantation between the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. It’s been quite a few years now but we thoroughly enjoyed each trip; from the hunting from horseback, to great accommodations to very fine food and drinks. Doug and Jackie are consummate hosts and the staff top notch. Coveys were strong and plentiful.
