Default Guyette auction

Are many folks planning to attend the auction? It looks like another wide selection of very nice guns.

I don't attend the live auction, because the guns are not on site. I go a day ahead to inspect, drive home, wake up early, turn on the computer, sign in, and push the bid buttons until I am outbid. I usually have an old fashioned glass with bourbon and ice on the desk to soften the blow of being outbid.

I will be there ringside like the "Thrilla In Manila". I have guns in the auction and a couple or three that I will "snipe" at the last minute if necessary. I mainly go live because it is c. 2 hrs. from home and I like to record the hammer prices as they fall, both for instant and future reference. Past catalogs with pricing are a wonderful real-world reference and experience over the years has shown that (as Carly Simon said) they'll be "Comin' Around Again"!

I have a PILE of auction catalogs going back into the 1990’s.

I’ve been carting them in to the shop cutting the backbones off on the bandsaw and using them as packing material .

Oh the human suffering... by those who wish they had some.

Alan Swanson gave me ALL of his collection of auction catalogs.

I have all of my RIA catalogs boxed for shipping, about 20 pounds per box, about seven of them.

So am I. It's probably the same item. I was there a couple of hours ago for the final inspection of "our" item. I'm back home now, bourbon in hand.

Win, place or show a drink or two won’t hurt!
