Default Cabelas and C&R FFL

I wanted to buy a Parker from the Cabellas gun library, but they would not honor my C&R license. Has anyone else had this experience with Cabellas? Once Bass Pro bought them they have really turned into a lousy store. Just had to vent!!

Yeah generally just idiots all the way around I've found. And yes, they wouldn't honor mine in Hamburg, PA.

They have become increasingly difficult to do gun business with. The last gun I bought from them took over 2 hours. Many steps and employees yelling “ Check Check Check”

I have not had this experience, but ive not had someone not honoring my C&R be a deterrent to purchasing something when I am actually inside a store. In fact, the only reason I bothered to get one was because of my busy schedule getting to and from an FFL in my area is a pain in the rear. So shipping to my door is a giant time saver.

Anyways, if they wont take the C&R - a 4473 check is no longer as backed up as it used to be, at least in my experiences, and your already in the store, i don't see the deterrent. I would actually be very suspicious of someone with a C&R that would not do a 4473.....a lot can happen in 3 years.

Cabelas and guns as a whole is not good in my opinion, they are usually 10x price, except the 1 time they are 1/2 price. And you are entirely on your own in terms of assessing condition / questions. No one knows squat.

Same experience here in Ohio. Had a Win 21 shipped here from another of their stores, and local Cabela's didn't care about my C&R either. I bought the gun anyways as it was a very desired purchase for me. The original listing for sale and shipping store in Texas was stellar in every aspect of our deal. Super nice employees who took the time to go into detail for quite a few things.
That gun wound up as my favorite all round usage gun. I'm glad I went thru with the purchase. Mattly

Things went very well when I bought a 30-inch barrel AE-Grade Ansley H. Fox 20-gauge from Wes Dillon in the Gun Library at the "Flagship" Store back in 2004. Every interaction since then has gotten worse!

I still want the gun, but I'm a little stubborn, so cabelas can kiss my ass I'm not buying from them or their crappy parent company.
