Hi Everyone. I'm one of those who inherited a Parker years ago and is now trying to figure out what to do with it. I inherited from my father a 12 gauge DHE with 30" Damascus barrels, #895320. He inherited it from his father, who acquired it, as my father told me, as a gift from Scotty Parker who was wooing (his word) my father's older sister. A little online research turned up Charles Stewart Parker, born 1901, same year as my aunt. I'm assuming the exchange took place between 1921 and my grandfather's early death in 1923. To my eye the gun looks unused, though encased in a lot of old oil and dust. It was always on display in my father's house or mine starting in the 1950's. We were both hunters. It was a treasure. I'm beginning to divide up my good stuff amongst my children and could use some advice valuing it, and possibly selling it, or one of my children selling it. Old guns, I'm discovering, are like old furniture. Has anyone had a good experience with a dealer or individual in the Conn./Mass. area? I'm looking forward to any and all comments. Some photos are attached. That's its original case.

Correction: #895420. Made in 1896, I believe.

2nd Correction: #85420. I guess I'm older than I think I am.

Richard you should join the PGCA for $40. A letter will then cost you $40. If you don't join, a letter will cost you $100.00. I suggest either way, you should order a letter.

Thanks. I'll do as you suggest. I have been curious about where it was before my grandfather acquired it.

Sell it here.
If it is priced right, it will sell almost instantaneously.

Richard, where in Mass do you live? I live in Andover.
It looks like a very nice DH and I’d like to have a look at it.

The gun is far from “unused”. But it does look like a nice unmolested example.

I would say that the beat thing to do with it would be to get it out and enjoy it.

That's a nice-looking example you have there. It's would sell rather quickly if the price is right.

Thanks for politely pointing out it's a DH, not DHE. I'm not ready to show it. I need to do some research still. I've always had spaniels, best natured and smartest dogs on the planet.
