Default Any Repros without "Made in Japan"

I posted yesterday about a repro 20 I have that doesn't say "Made In Japan" anywhere on the gun. I assumed that this was typical of P serial numbered guns but I was apparently mistaken. Has anyone else ever seen or owned a Parker repro without the Japan reference?

I don't see a Japan reference on my repro 28.

Most 28 GA guns I have seen have Made in Japan on the right barrel partly hidden by the forend wood.

I have a 28 gauge two-barrel set and they are both marked Made In Japan on the right barrels and the East Alton IL. address on the left barrel.

False alarm. Since I had the 20 repro out of the safe and the weather broke a bit I decided to shoot it. When I got home and was cleaning it I felt a rough spot on the barrels where the “made in Japan” should be. I grabbed a stiff bristled brush and made a couple swipes and there it was. Seems that someone took the effort to fill it in with something. My apologies for the misinformation.

No problem, I'm used to being blamed for stuff I didn't cause. I'm married.
