Default Old Parker Bros 12 Ga.

Just curious to see if anyone can help me figure out more information. This shotgun is a family heirloom. According to the website and serial No. it was made in 1884. If anyone can provide me with more information I’d greatly appreciate it!

I created a Google Doc with images. Hopefully they’re viewable on your end.

10 gauge Parker Twist top lever hammer gun on a 3 frame with 30 inch heavy barrels and a straight grip stock. Just what the book says. So, you have an original, unmessed with, lower grade Parker that should be a great shooter, and a family heirloom to boot. Lots of guys would like to have that gun in their collection. You will need to reload or buy some ridiculously expensive short 10 low pressure ammo, if you can find it. That's the only drawback. Enjoy!

Not that I would ever consider selling it, but just out of curiosity, do you happen to have an estimate on value?

Sorry, can't give you a value, but will give advice. This is an unmolested, completely original early Parker. Any attempt to refinish or upgrade this gun will result in an expensive chore that will result in lower value. It is a wonder as is.

A well used but cared for gun. That is how you like to find them.

Right on! Thank you for the information! Well just keep it. Would it be a bad idea to perhaps at the very least, clean it? It seems as though there’s some rust colored gunk built up on the barrels close on the chamber. I’d like to keep it nice and clean, however I’m afraid of doing anything to damage it.

The gun looks like it could use a good strip and clean.
It is best to get it to someone who knows what they are doing for that.
