Default Old Wallhanger

And then some folks even like these old hammer guns, sometimes called wallhangers. This one, a 16ga with Whitworth barrels.

Bruce, you sure come up with some great looking guns.

Your pictures bring up a question on hammerguns. Should the hammer screw slot, with the hammers down, line up with the bore axis like all the other Parker screws? Mine don't and I've never tried reversing the screws to see if they will.

Any one know how they came out of the factory?

I have one that's still about like it left the plant and the screws are lined up axially.

Answer: Probably

Answer: Maybe. See below photo from 1895 New York Showroom Catalog . All hammer guns shown therein have the same hammer screw alignment. I'm not a Parker expert, but I suspect the guns in the Showroom catalog are pretty close to the way they were made.
