Best to have someone who knows a lot about Parkers look at the gun and measure the bores and chokes. Next step is a PGCA letter.

Thank you for looking twice!
I am told that the chokes are 2 1/2 inches long and they are full and full using a Galazan gauge. I wanted the reading in thousands but was not avaliable. Were 29 inch bbls even an option? Thmaks for the reply |

There are a scant few records of Parkers made with 29" barrels.
The Galazan brass "Go - NoGo" thing will not measure chokes even inaccurately. 2 1/2" choke length seems to indicate the possibility of 1 - 2 inches of barrel length missing as most Parker chokes were between 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 inches long. |

29" barrels were available at Parker Brothers. The appearance of the end of the rib is one clue of originality if you care to post a picture. I wouldn't take anyone's word about the choke length if they use a plug type choke gauge.

Thank you for your reply. That was my question.... How do you know the length of the choke if you are using a plug type guage.

#128,592 is a 29" gun. It was discussed recently on another forum.

A book listed 28" barrel that now measures 29". This is truly new and wonderous news, indeed a miracle.
In the usual case we hear about a book listed 28" gun that now measures 26 or 27" , but this is special. It offers new hope for tragically truncated members and badly bobbed barrels. |
