Thank you for your replies. Now a second question. Is there any method that I can use to eliminate the bright spot where the previous owner tried to polish out the scratch? The patina on the barrels is a brownish hue and I would like to get that back. Has anyone tried the spot application of Hydrogen peroxide and vinegar? I use this mixture in gun parts cleaning but have not on Damascus. Thoughts?

Bachelder's did a great job of refinishing my Laminated Steel barrels. They actually came out a little more plum color than the pictures show, but you get the idea.
