Default Good year for Bobwhite

A buddy from Ste Genevieve reports that they have been doing very well on wild bobwhite quail.

Good birds, good dogs, off to SoDak tomorrow....pheasant and maybe some prairie chickens there.

I usually just carry my old PHE 16ga beater, but I'll bring 20ga's in C and D for John Dunkle. Pictures to follow.

Where is St. Genevieve? I love to hunt Quail esp wild ones. A staunch pointer and the lovely VHE 28 skeet or perhaps the CHE 20 thats what dreams are made of

Bruce ,I know exactly what you mean ,I figure I will take a different gun and always grab this old PH Grade 20 Ga. ,I just love this little gun just a tad under 6 lb. and 28" Barrels swings like an extension of my arm , just seems to always do the job ! Good Hunting , Now I don't know for sure ,since I have never had the pleasure of taking a trip with you fellas but just from what I have read from previous posts ,you may want to check your gun cases just before you and Mr. Dunkle part ways !

If you are talking about the Dodge City area, I'm out there a lot and that is familiar ground. Pheasants are supposed to be very good this year.
