Default GH Barrel Serial Numbers

Purchased my first Parker double gun some months ago, a GH grade... Last night I pulled it out of the safe to give it a good cleaning and I noticed a 3 digit number on the end of the barrel lug. Should this number match the last numbers of the barrels serial number?

I am just guessing...but the serial#'s on the side of the barrel lug don't look like a Parker stamp/font. Maybe someone tried to change the serial# and didn't realize that the last 3 numbers were on the end of the lug? What are the other serial #'s for the forend, frame, etc.? Are they 129041 or do they end in 471?

My assumption is the barrels were fitted to the gun and they attempted to change the serial # to fit the gun.

Yes, all other #`s on the gun are 129041. My first Parker double purchase, next time I`ll have to pay more attention...

Thanks,

Randy, I could be wrong. Could you post pictures of the 129041 serial number on the forend and receiver? 129041 looks likes it is 12 Gauge GH from the serialization book. Does your gun have 30" barrels? It could be something done at the factory other pictures of the serial# would be helpful.

If the rest of the gun is serial # 129041 I wonder if someone fitted a different set of barrels to the gun, changed the serial number on the side of the lug and forgot about the 3 numbers on the end of the lug.

As Patrick suggested, it looks like someone fitted different barrels to the gun.
