Default Straight grip and short trigger guard

Hello, This is the first time for me on this forum. I have a ph 12 serial number 65379 that has a straight grip but with a short trigger guard. The stock looks great and seems to have no waves or dips in it as well as the checkering looking like it was original. I wondered if any straight stocks were made with the pg trigger guards or is this just an aftermarket change from a previous owner?

Factory straight grips would have the proper long tang guard.

Many pistol grip guns were 'converted' to straight stocks, and used the original trigger bow, simply straightened out. I have seen some examples that look very amateurish, and others that were first rate, That, notwithstanding, if a long tang trigger bow was available, it would have been a smarter choice, if only to give the wrist a bit of strength.

Thank you, I had a feeling that was the case. This one had a skilled hand working it for sure. I am assuming that detracts from the price.
