Default Doves a bunch

Charlie I have already booked with my Hondo Tx guide dates of Sept 1-4 he has planted a new field in big sunflower so it should be great for white wings. I love dove shooting and my daughter will go again with me this year so I may do a special story on her she my shoot my grandsons GH Parker but most likely her moms Beretta 20. I can't wait and my Brittany is rip roaring ready too. Best to you.

Charlie in the areas I have been to in AZ as well as from what I have observed in the nestlings around the house dove seem to be doing well. There are a good number of Whitewings but they usually head further south by September 1.

I was fortunate to get an invite to hunt Eurasian doves yesterday on private property. There was no shortage of birds. It was a FOX day with 4 of us bringing a Fox to shoot. ( I was given a special waiver LOL to also shoot a few boxes of shells through my LCS Crown 20 gauge that I recently had sleeved and a Charles Lancaster under lever 12 hammer gun.

Default Doves

Charlie all I know is my guide has planted a big field of the extra large sunflowers which the doves like so much. We hunt the edges of the fields so nobody is allowed out in them for safety reasons plus let's the doves light in the middle. I have a new old toy an Ithaca 4E 20 about 1910 and 4E 16 Lewis vintage. Can't wait to try out headed to shoot spt clays with my 13 old grandson whom I bought a GH 16 for last Christmas he is my clone!!! Good luck plowing😎😎

Charlie,

The guy that plants my soy beans did that a month and a half ago. Said he would be back the next week to put the sunflowers in. Then it was the next week. Did not hear from him so I called Monday and he was toting a calf and stepped in a hole and broke his leg in three places, three weeks ago!

So I put them in the ground today; had to sew by hand and drag over them. So I won't have sunflowers until October, but boy is that good hunting on cool mornings. That is if it ever rains again to get them started. With luck and thunderstorms I'll be OK.

Default Dove

Charlie you are correct both guns are tight chokes so should be good for the larger white wings using 7 1/2 shot. It will be here in 33 days!!!
