Default Made the leap!

I'm proud to say that I finally joined the fraternity with this DH 12 gauge.

I'll request a letter shortly but here is what I currently know.

SN 146932
1908
Grade 3 DH
Frame size 1
26" Damascus barrels
Capped pistol grip
Weighs in at 6.5 pounds
It had some restoration work done by a Robert Daugherty of Pittsburgh PA about 20 years ago but I'm not certain exactly what was done.
Bores are bright and shiny but may have a couple of spots on them.

Many thanks to those who offered input on my prior thread and via private messages. Special thanks to Dean Romig and Gary Carmichael!

My great grandfathers DHE is less than 300 numbers away. I use it all season long. Welcome to the world of Parkers. You'll love it.

Robbie, please measure the exact distance between firing pin centers in sixteenths of an inch and tell us what you find.

Beyond the "0" the stamp was hard to read but looking at it from different angles I see a "1".

The firing pin measurement is 1-1/16" which confirms a 1 frame, correct?

As John asked, what does the "0" indicate?

Also, I created an album with more pictures...

That measurement would be for a 1 frame.

The "0" on the lug is an odd one. It is smaller than a normal frame size stamping. Everything on the gun has been gone over, so it could be there for any reason I suppose.

The 0 must be an inspector's mark...maybe "J" stamped the 0.

It must represent some meaning we may never understand.

Very, very nice Grade 3. Love the wood. Is it possible the barrels were blackened?
