Default long wait

How about this for a long wait on a gun, ordered 12/27 1916 shipped 8/30/1917 for a 30 inch,VH 20 ga. It went to CA, by the way, thanks Chuck for the fast letter turn around, scott

Scotty, I've got one that took 4 days less to get out. 16 ga Grade 2 Hammer gun, ordered 12/8/1887, and shipped 8/14/1888

I just cannot believe it took Parker Bros. 8 months to produce and ship those two lower grade guns. Is it possible that the record copies are confusing or unreadable? It just does not make any sense.

Not sure about the letter on Scott's gun, but I had to get my letter corrected and Chuck looked at the order book pretty carefully.
It's not unusual for larger hardware and sporting goods companies to place large orders ahead of the hunting season. These orders would likely be shipped in bulk, rather than piecemeal.

Edgar nailed it. Some of these orders are multiple page orders, 30 to 40 guns per page. Some orders say to hold all shipments till the order is filled, some are sent out in groups with different ship dates. Can't say specifically with Scott's gun without looking up the order.
