Barrel Flats Markings
Has anyone ever seen a Barrel flat marking that is in the shape of an oval and reads: OVERLOAD
PARKER BROS
PROVED
I am new to Parkers and would appreciate any information on this marking. Thank you

generally 1926 and later marking but the proof testing was no different than prior years and the barrels were no more resistant to rupture than previous. Just a marking, that's all. See TPS chapter on Barrels and Barrel Markings.
The marking is on late produced fluid steel and Damascus barrels.
