Default VH Questions

I recently bought a VH 2 frame 12 gauge and I have some questions the barrel appears to have the signs of being uncut the band at the end and the barrels meet but the barrel is 1/16 short of 30 ins is this common? All the parker I have seen are usually dead on inch. The safety is stuck and only the left barrel will fire any ideas on this? The butt plate is missing is it possible to find a replacement for it? And finally there appears to be a bump on the inside of the barrels right after the forcing cone but no sign of dent or bulge on outside of the barrel. Any ideas on what that would be? I know this is a lot of questions but any info would help.

Odd barrel lengths have been observed before on original and in altered barrels. Does rib matting terminate before the end of the rib?

Buttplate a are readily available aftermarket. They can be a touch tricky to fit, but not all that bad.

Sounds to me like the gun needs a good cleaning to start. And an inspection of the internal workings to see what is wrong.

For sure I am following his disassembly guide. I have already found that the safety did not work because the safety was not aligned. Same reason the left barrel would not fire. That and a whole bunch of gunk.
