Default Swing and a miss on a letter

Got my letter for PH 176149 12 Gauge today and it sure doesn't seem to match up with the gun. Letter says it was ordered by E. K. Tryon on November 13, 1916 and featured 32" barrels. Current gun has barrels at 26 1/4" with the line at the end of the barrels and also has chokes of .035 and .020 with reversed chokes. Think its pretty safe to say that something is remiss between the letter and the actual gun. Only thing of note is order book 98 says the gun was returned in May 31, 1918 to have a new extractor installed by the D. Pike Co. Ltd of Toronto Canada. FWIW, its wasn't listed in the serial number book. Bores are .730 and minimum barrel wall thickness is .039.

Appreciate any clues on what reality might be. The barrels sure don't appear to be cut to me and if 6" were cut my thoughts are it wouldn't be choked what it is. FWIW, the barrels also touch at the ends.

Mystery continues.
