Asking for opinions on my Marlin model 90

I've had this gun for a few years now and have always wondered if was a higher-grade version or a customized gun? Either way, I would like to get opinions on ballpark value as I have a friend that wants to buy it. Any and all opinions welcomed and appreciated. It's a 12 ga. w/30 in. barrels. serial#D554

I would have a hard time selling such a great gun.

The gun has been restocked.

It is way nicer than the factory stocks were.

What would such stock work cost nowadays Brian?

Depending on grade of wood you select your cost would probably be at least $5k

That wood is far above Model 90 quality!! Looks like an oval post Simmons rib on the barrels. Marlin never offered a rib on the Model 90. Whoever refinished the frame, they got the plum color that so often happens on these. Seems reproducing the original black gun-metal finish of the frame takes some talent.

You’re right about the vent rib being Simmons. I didn’t think that the receiver was refinished. I’m not sure. I guess since it’s got custom wood it doesn’t matter. Still asking for a ballpark estimate on value.
