Default Correcting a DH Straight Grip Conversion

This DH came to me as an assembled 2 barrel set. The original 28" Barrels were with it and an additional set of 30" VH barrels with matching forend. The original DH forend was missing from the whole ensamble. The VH splinter forend interchanged, but the customer wished to have a BTFE put on the shorter 28" barrels. A replcement forend iron and latch from a GH was used for the additional metal and I fitted up a semi-inletted BTFE that I had laying around to it and the gun.

The second part of this project was that the gun had already been restocked in the past and was converted to a straight grip. However, the original PG guard was just flattened out and used. And the stocker got creative with the checkering pattern that they laid down with that short guard.

The owner wished for the grip and checkering to be more correct for a Parker. I used a spare Straight Grip guard and inletted it into the stock. Polished it out, fitted new screws for it and had Geoffroy Gournet engrave it with the proper DH design and the serial number. There was enough wood to work with, so the former grip checkering was whiped out completely. A few other minor matters with the stock were tended to, as well as polishing out someone elses engraved name on the stock oval. Everything was refinished and proper checkering for a straight grip was cut in.
All the while having to work around the leather covered pad that could not come off due to it not having any plugs for screws.
