Default barrel weights

What were the lightest barrel weights available on 26 and 28 in. guns? MY VH 20 and DHE 16 both have 26" cyl/m barrel s @ 3lbs 1oz and both guns weigh 6 lbs even per factory letter specs, In a recent post was a VH 20 with 28" barrels weighing 6 lbs. The LOP was the same the , so the difference must be that the 28" barrels weigh less than the 26". How light could they be?

Charlie, are your barrels damascus or steel? And a question for the group do damascus barrels weigh more than steel barrels? this is a question I have been pondering for instance a set of 26" barrels one damascus one steel choked the same bored and chambered the same would the damascus weigh more than the steel barrels or less? Default 20 ga. lwt. barrels

Josh, do you know the minimum barrel wall thickness on that 20 AHE? The 0 frame 20 ga. guns I have measured with 3 lb + marked barrel have all had more minimum barrel wall thickness than the same barrel length 2 lb x oz. marked barrels of the same length. Thanks.

John
That sounds like a real sweet gun, have any pictures to post?--what are the chokes? Starting to get the desire for a damascus gun, hell maybe even a hammer gun
