Default Parker shotgun s/n 186845

Can anyone tell me some information about this shotgun? From what my dad told me, it was passed on from my grandfather to him, and now to me.

Sorry Dan..The gun is not in the Serialization book.Order a research letter from the link on this site. That should tell you more. Pictures would also be helpful.

Dan,I just checked the database and no records exist. Now we really need some photos.

Dan,Your gun looks to be a nice well used VH 20 ga. The wear on the checkering seems to be consistent with the rest of the gun. A couple of the screws are buggered but that can easily be remedied. Are the barrels 26" long?

Your gun is one up from the lowest grade made by Parker Bros. But don,t despair. All this means is that your gun has less embellishment than the higher grades. And that leg-o-mutton case adds a nice touch also.

Default Case size

Josh,
The case has a partition inside and only one barrel is going to fit inside the space.

Does anyone know if this case was an original accessory, or is it something that was purchased at another time?

Show us a picture of the top of the barrels at the muzzle. If the gun has characteristics of an original 24" barrel gun, it would be scarcer and more valuable than a normal VH Grade 20 gauge Parker of another barrel length.
