Default Parkers in Kansas City

First I have no stake in this, not my guns. But here is the deal. I know people often have a difficult time finding decent Parkers, but there are a lot of them here.

I am an acquaintance of Mike Jensen, who shows his guns on Gunbroker as Mikeej. He has placed all his guns on view at the Olathe Gun shop in the sw KC metro area. There are lots of guns, maybe 60-70? Lots of Parkers, Lefevers, L C Smiths, little known Brit and French guns. Many, if not most, have something a little wrong with them, kind of beat up usually, but serviceable or could be without too much. He prices them reasonably. They have made the whole back part of the gunshop into like a C Gun Library , maybe better.

I think Mike's guns offer a person who can't spend very much an opportunity to get into a decent, generally lower grade Parker that has a few but not fatal issues. I saw a perfectly nice little VH 20 there at $2800 asking, for example, which is a price from 4-5 years ago. So, they are on Gunbroker, the photos should be good, Mike posts barrel wall thickness, etc, and he is a straight up guy, owns a roofing company.

If a person really needs a second opinion, call me at 816 305 7953 and I'll see if I can run over there and look at the gun in person, but Mike's photos should be good. The gunshop is a couple doors away from Simmons, which is back to doing a lot of vent ribs on smooth barrelled guns.

I know that some people here have their own gun sales businesses and I don't mean to take away from them. Aagin, I have no stake in this. If a person is close and has a relationship with somebody else, stick with them, but if you are looking and don't know where to check, think about it.

No, but I know where you can find a nice little V 410 from an individual for $24,000.

I don't think there are any cheap Parker 410's.

Bruce,

I have bought from, and talked about doubles with Mike Jensen. Mike doesn't give away his guns but they do sell. Let's say they are priced at the market value.

Mike's knowledge of doubles is in fact very impressive! Conversation with him is a learning experiance.

Thanks for offering to recon those guns!

I went to the Kansas City gun show a week ago which often has some Parkers worth looking at, nothing high grade but a few D's, G's and ten or so V's. I go the Tulsa show and although that has some high grade guns, Mike's selection of lower grade lower cost guns is as good or better than the gun shows I see. And Mike always says to make an offer if you don't like what he has on it. No, he is not like Puglisi or Bishop's , or places where you can really get a collector's high grade gun, but many folks can't afford those.

I haven't seen anything compelling for a long time, but I do have a buddy going out to look at something that sounds promising for both of us, but in this hobby, you look at a lot of fools gold before you find the real thing.

Yup...the good ones are very scarce indeed....My best buy in recent days was a 1925 PHE 16 with 26" steel barrels Skeet and lt-full, all orignal parts with a Delgrco senior restoration that is superb! 6 lbs-5 3/4 oz Perfect modern dementions over DHBP...The gun looks new except for the color case job Delgreco used...)-: It will be in the P.A. grouse woods this fall to live again! SXS ohio...(-:

Kenny, sounds a lot like my usual grab and go gun, a PHE 16 with 28" barrels. I've had the gun about everywhere on about everything from dove to geese. Enjoy.

Is this the same gun offered by Julia some time ago? I suspect it is "well owned" or might the price be negotiable? Had a Hawkins pad if I remember.
