Default THE HUNT IS OVER

So, for quite some time I have been searching for a 28 Gauge Reproduction that has 28” barrels and more open choked from the factory than the typical M/F. I knew that I may never find one but I kept looking. As luck would have it a dealer friend of mine referred me to a friend of his who he said had about a dozen 28 Gauge Reproductions all or most of them NIB. Well, I gave him a call and he said the only 28 Ga gun that he had with double triggers (per my request) was NIB and had never been put together. He further stated that it had 28” barrels factory choked Q1, Q2, and so marked on the barrel flats and on the end of the original box. He sent me some pictures, we did the deal and I picked the gun up today at my FFL. The gun still has the factory cosmoline on it. Needless to say, I am very pleased to be able to find and purchase this gun. Will be fun to shoot this summer.

I think he’ll need to shoot it and do some bird hunting with it before he can come up with a name for it.

What a great combo!! Congrats, Steve!

As a fellow owner of a two barrel 28 GA Repro, I can tell you that I love my gun, and it’s nearly always the first one I reach for as I head out to the grouse woods, but a Q1/Q2 is a rare and enviable bird indeed!

I’m so pleased for you that your hunt was successful!!

Dave

I am very jealous. I also picked up my first reproduction this morning. Also a 28 gauge but only 26” barrels and a single trigger. The guy I got my SC from took it in trade while I was waiting for the SC to arrive. Made me a nice deal and I snagged it. A very impulsive purchase. While waiting for its arrival (and WA 10 day background check) I did some research, and without firing a single round through it, thought better of my hasty decision.

Then it arrived home today and I can’t wait to put it through its paces. I’ll take to the trap range on Tuesday and put a couple boxes of shells through it. I’m a double trigger guy. It was initially awkward moving from a citori lighting 20 ga with a single selective trigger to my 12 gauge Trojan. But I’ve shot that so much, anything else feels odd to me.
