Anything built 1898 or earlier is classified as an antique and can be shipped direct according to ATF regulations. It is always best to verify that the shipping company or post office will accept the shipment from a non FFL holder. UPS and Fed Ex will not. The post office should, but in Nashville I have 3 post offices that accept guns and one that refuses to.

I am of the belief that the statue to which you refer states "FFL" not "01 FFL". I have been trying to locate the complete text of this recent NY Law in my references but have not yet located. This is what I have found in a SCOPE communication: "The Act requires that a prospective firearm transferor and transferee process the sale via an FFL, but "does not mandate that FFLs play this processing role." An FFL, who does elect to provide the service, may not charge the parties more than $10 per transaction." Bob Jurewicz |

Isn't an 01 FFL the only FFL that can do background checks?? |

Craig, so does this mean that in the State of New York, you cannot order a Muzzleloader rifle from say Bass Pro and have it delivered directly to your home?

You can't even purchase a Ruger .22 auto without a NYS Pistol permit that takes about one year to obtain. Add to that safe storage and transportation regs. The people in power hate the 2nd amendment and guns of all types plus they have liberal judges that uphold all this. It's all just crazy!! I'm checking out real-estate in South Carolina. |
