Hey Brett. Was wondering roughly what size this event was going to be. It's 5 hr drive from central Ohio so contemplating overnite stay along with shoot. Any local fun venues to go along with shoot?. Thanks Mattly

Matt, we are estimating 50-70 shooters, potentially more. This shoot is replacing the Bacheldor Memorial Double Nasty Shoot which has been sunsetted. On Friday afternoon, June 20th the Western Great Lakes Region Vintager’s Group is having a fun shoot at Blendon Pines Sporting Clays with dinner to follow at a local Mexican restaurant. Blendon Pines is about 40 minutes from KCCL near Zeeland, MI. A number of shooters are shooting both venues.

Both facilities are close to Grand Rapids, MI so there is a plethora of things to do in the area as well as Holland, Grand Haven, and Saugatuck on the shore of Lake, MI is a 45 minute drive from KCCL and closer to Zeeland. If you have an interest we can connect and I can give you more details on lodging, restaurants, etc. Thanks - Brett

I should also mention Vintage Firearms Inc. is about 20 minutes from KCCL. Always worthwhile stopping in to see what nice guns Jay has in inventory!

I bought my CSMC RBL DT reserve 16 gauge couple years back online from Jay. He was exceptionally nice to deal with. A trip to visit there in person might sweeten up the pot enough to make it 2-3 day adventure. Many thanks Sir. If it comes to pass, I'll PM you and chat about places to stay etc.

The Inaugural KCCL Heritage SxS Shoot took place yesterday. Most of the shooters also shot Friday night’s Western Great Lakes Vintager’s Fun Shoot at Blendon Pines Sporting Clays near Zeeland, MI followed by Saturday’s event. The Heritage Shoot main event was 100 targets over 14 stations. The course was challenging w/a mix of report and true pairs across multiple presentations. To add a little spice by late morning the temps were in the low 90’s with a variable wind pattern that gave the targets a little extra dance at times.

We had shooters from MI, IN and OH in attendance. After Friday evening’s fun shoot the group enjoyed a great Mexican dinner and margaritas at a great local restaurant. Following Saturday’s 100 Target main event a great lunch of pulled pork sandwiches and all the fixings was served. After lunch a small bore 50 target event was held. To say it was toasty would be an understatement!! Still, everyone had a great time and enjoyed it thoroughly. Thanks to Blendon Pines Sporting Clays and KCCL for hosting these two events! Already looking forward to next year!!
