Default First duck of 2025

The hunting was pretty slow this morning, but I was able to jump one bunch of ducks off one of my ditches.

Nice. You do well with the ditch ducks. Great start for the new year.

It is my go- to Parker duck gun. It's a 1 1/2 frame vh with 30" mod and full barrels.
I will hunt with other guns occasionally, but this gun gets the nod most times.

I still have a supply of the old Bismuth Co shells. I usually use #5, but also have used #2 and #4.

Jeff,

Congrats on a nice duck taken with a pukka duck killer!

What do you consider a reasonable max range with bismuth #5s?

I have bismuth and tungsten polymer #5 loads that I use for chukar but have never tried them on ducks..

Best,
Brett

If I do a good job sneaking up on the ducks, most of my shots are 20 to 25 yards. After that they have the after burners going!

You gonna tote that 20 gauge vent rib gun a time or two and see how it does
