Default Mother Nature at my pond..

I took this standing on my dock. This is the deep corner..about 18 feet. It's about 2 acres total. The biggest bass..9 lbs.... I caught in 2 feet of water under the willow on the right side..Standing on the bank ! Can't beat the Ozarks in the fall.....

Jerry, the Ozarks in Missouri?...Arkansas? I did not know you were "in the area." We are north of Kirksville, not far from the Iowa line, but do some trout fishing south of Rolla.

Beautiful picture, BTW!

Arkansas..30 miles N. of Batesville...We bought this farm when we lived in West Palm Beach. Moved here for good after we sold the house there...You have probably heard of the Spring River that is a trout mecca here. It's about 10 miles from me..

You are welcome for the bears. We have enough that we have a short season. My neighbor (2 miles) says he saw one a couple years ago cross our road. The Prez. of the bank here has a trail camera photo of a puma drinking at his pond. Its 5 miles from here. I used to own the farm in Indiana this is now a big cat rescue. I was there a couple years ago. He had about 25 BIG cats. Last year in the local paper..there was a photo looking down from a tree stand at a puma looking up. A local school teacher watched it follow his track through the woods until it came to his tree. It sat there for about 1/2 hour and then left. It had escaped from the farm.earlier that month..

Jerry, thanks to Arkansas migrating bears we also have a bear season. We have documented mountain lion reports in Missouri and Iowa, apparently young males from the Dakotas and Nebraska. No verified wild hogs in North Missouri yet, but our Conservation Department is working hard to eradicate them from the Ozarks.

Hogs are beginning to be a problem in some places here. Some friends of mine from St. Louis have a 1,000 acre camp about 4 miles down our road. They have seen a couple there..
