Default Help with VHE ID

Hi. New to this great forum and would love to join the Parker owner club. Looking for an entry level gun to start. Found this listing and was wondering if anyone can provide more info on this one. All I have is:

“ Parker Brothers Shotgun, Model VHE Side by Side 12 gauge, 28 inch barrell, Made in 1910 148XXX” and the attached two photos.

I haven’t seen other Parker stocks with a cheek riser, so wondering if it’s original? I also know value is dependent on condition, but if someone could give me a best guess on a price range, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Don't want to rain on anyone, but I would question the originality of either the butt or the forearm, don't mean to cause hurt feelings, sorry. M

If the price is right and the gun fits you it could still be a very nice shooter. M

Chip it's been restocked, both ends. Wouldn't want to guess on value without knowing more about the integrity of the barrels, chambers, and chokes personally. It's not going to be a big number for certain.

Thank you for the additional information. I'm so glad I asked. I'm going to pass on this one :-)

Chip:

You need not be an owner of a Parker gun to be a member of the Parker Gun Collectors Association.

Any level of enthusiasm, curiosity, or penchant for fellowship will do, in support of an organization dedicated to:

"...the study of the history of the Charles Parker Company and especially of the guns made by the company, and of historic individuals who may have owned or used them. We support exchange of information among students of the Parker Gun, and organize meetings and lectures where this information can be exchanged."

That's a really nice Parker. Is it available to other collectors?

If you are looking for a right unmolested example that will hold its value. Do not buy that gun. If you do not care and you feel it is a good buy, then do buy it.
