Default Hotel at the Fall Southern

For those who are going, where are you staying? This will be my first Fall Southern. There aren’t a whole lot of lodging options in the area.

There are a number of decent hotels in Georgetown, near the marina. It's only 20 minutes from the event at Backwoods. Here's a Google link:

Has anyone stayed at "Bella's Boutique Hotel" in downtown Hemingway? $49 a night! I won't be the first to try, but someone should give her a shot.

Initially I was going to book at the Baymont but I asked the lady at Backwoods about the place and she said she couldn’t recommend it so I went with the Quslity Inn .

We stayed at a B&B on the main drag in Georgetown when we were there. Very nice place. Tom Carter and his wife stayed there too. Plenty close to all the restaurants too. The B&B was 620 Prince.

Review worth what it cost.

Never tried the in town B&Bs, friend stayed in Air B&B on the River for a week and liked it. Quality Inn has the most Southern shooters which is an advantage, nice staff well worn rooms best price. Hampton Inn the nicest hotel & highest price, if my wife goes that’s were we stay.

Never met anybody who recommended or stayed at the Baymont. Tried Pawleys Island one year not a good option longer drive & strict cancellation policy, weather changes you can’t bail out early.

If there is a Hemingway SC hotel don’t know about it.

I kinda wanted to bring my Boykin but the Quality Inn doesn’t seem overly dog friendly and I have a girl house sitting and taking care of my Border so I suppose the Boykin stays home this trip . On a kinda side note , this’ll be the fourth of these things I’ll attend this year , perhaps I can break the streak and NOT buy another shotgun !

If you don't need to stay close to the beach take a look at Conway. It is about 10 to 15 minutes farther than Georgetown but has a few nice hotels. I live just out side of Conway and it takes me 30 minutes to get to Backwoods.

I don't know if you have the same issues as we do in the western states, the hotels here say they are all booked and if you find one that has rooms available they are $225.00 a night. I would definitely call and make reservations with there rate known and not plan on finding a place when you get there.
