Default Easter Wing Hunt for the Dogs

Now that the nest is empty and the grandbabies are sheltering elsewhere, we had a few grouse wings from this fall in the freezer. This morning I hid them in the yard and sent out the mutt. He found them all and had a wonderful, memorable time. Perhaps even a new tradition.

Steve, what a great tradition to start. You've inspired me to check the freezer.

Steve,
It was good that you were in the northern part of the state today where you could go out with the dogs. We were having an Easter snow storm in the south.

Hey Steve the only tradition we had here was a raging snow storm 3 days before turkey season,3 years in a row.

I, sadly, have an entire filleted out grouse in my freezer that, after surviving a long cold winter feeding on choke cherries and crab apples and accumulating more fat than I have ever seen on any grouse, committed suicide by flying into a friends picture window. RIP Mr. grouse.

Wing hunting is a tradition in our house. My Wirehair, Eva, became a bird finding machine after being raised on pigeon wings in the garden.
