Default Frame Size

Will a Parker letter identify what the frame size was. I just acquired SN 55976 and it looks like a 1 on the barrel lug, but the gun sure is heavy.

The frame size is not noted in the records

I have 55801 -a 1 frame but not heavy
What is the barrel weight stamped on the gun?

And what is the center to center measurement of the firing pin holes in the breach face?

Barrel weight is 4.8 damascus 30" barrels. Distance from center of firing pins is one inch.

Many early #1 frames were real horses.

The frame size IS indicated in some of the record books. But not consistently and i dont think that info is normally provided in a letter.

Based on the measurements compared to the serialization book it is a 1 frame. Beautiful piece of wood on the stock. Thanks for all the help.
