Default Phil C and Chris D shot some doves.

I let Phill Carr and Chris Dawes shoot some doves out of my backyard last Saturday. No doves in Newfoundland so I think Chris had fun.

Lots and lots of good eating there - and apparently good shooting to get there. Enjoy!

Dale and his hunting partners Larry and another Chris were wonderful hosts. It was a dove hunt of a life time. The Eurasian dove flights would at times make great footage for the remake of the movies " The Birds".
In just a few short years it is hard to believe that an invasive species could expand so rapidly.
The icing on the cake was wrapping up our adventure with a lunch at Dales home, with the best dove I have ever eaten, and a large helping of Double gun talk. I dropped of Chris at the airport at 5:30 this morning, and will allow Chris to share more when he arrives back at his home.

Just wiping the cobwebs from my eyes after 18 hours or so of travel last night ...the frozen ponds rising up to meet me as we landed were not very welcoming after spending a week with Phil believe me !!!.

I cant find the words to describe my trip ,trip of a lifetime can't do it justice... I felt like Family as soon as I walked into Phil's home ,and Dale and his cohorts made us very comfortable ,the doves were fantastic ,I shot like crap most of the time letting the fun of it take over ,the gun in the first pic is Phil's Lc Trap which I shot most all day , the second is his Parker 8 gauge hammer gun , with which I managed three doves a real mans gun for sure.

it'll' be some time before I can get this all straight in my head ,overwhelming is a good term.

Dale thanks so much for the gracious offer to shoot at your spot ,it did not disappoint! your doves were real good eating as well and I really enjoyed our chat and your gun show at the house .
Thanks so much !!!!!

Well Thank you for the kind words Phil and Chris It was a truly fun Day and a pleasure to meet you Chris. I will take you guys to my backyard to shoot doves anytime you want. And thanks Chris for the gun advice. And thanks Phil for the quail. I did not hit a bird with the 8 ga Parker. My 16 ga Parker swings a bit easier.

Chris Robenault of Tempe AZ manning the big Parker against incoming doves. He hit a few with it. Chris is the finest wingshot I have ever seen. He usually kills 18-20 doves with a box of shells even in ".410". Chris has finally gotten his first Parker a nice little 16ga. Please welcome Chis to the Parker owner's club. He will get a few more in the future I can bet on it.
