Default parker chokes

gentlemen,
just got my research letter, and it listed right choke as modified, and left choke as close. can some please explain close to me?

I type the letter exactly as written in the order book if possible. Parker used close and full interchangeably. You also see 1/2 and 3/4 choke mentioned sometimes.
