Default Unusual Modification to a Parker

I recall seeing a picture of a hammerless Parker with a piece inletted into the rear of the receiver, similar to the inletted piece on the Parker try guns. What I can't recall is the purpose of the modification. There is a gun with this modification on gunbroker right now, #464484424. The gun doesn't have any sign of aftermarket single trigger or ejectors. What is this "thang"?

I vaguely remember seeing the 'other' gun you're referring to, but also don't remember, if I ever did know, what that screw is. Guesses are about as useful as opinions, but I'll take a stab and say it could be someones attempt at intercepting sears. It's almost cheap enough, someone ought to buy it just to find out.

That gun has been discussed before. It is still for sale. No one could really figure out what the screw could be. Someone needs to get brave and buy it so we can find out.

Maybe if I called the guy he would let me come look at it. He posted for sale locally but the price is still to steep for me.

Now, that sounds like a plan. We'll be waiting to hear from you. The fellow sent me additional pictures, but there is nothing unusual about the gun other than the screws.

You may not be able to figure out what the exact purpose is without pulling the action from the stock.

I would like to be able to locate the old thread where we discussed this modification. Can anyone give us an idea what we could use for a "search" word?

Another interesting thing about that gun is that the wrist is very long. Look at the distance between the safety button and the comb! I wonder what the LOP is.
