Default 10 gauge barrel length

I got a copy of Identification and Serialization Monday and have been skiming it quite a bit . Paying attention at the moment mostly to the 10 gauge configurations .

Looked like the majority of the hammerless guns were 30 and 32 inches . I did however see some 28's , 26's and atleast two listed at 24" . Starngely enough the pair of 24" guns were consecutive serial number guns .

Oh yeah also saw atleast one 34" 10 gauge but I think that was a top lever hammer gun .

Anyway for you "fellows" that are a bit more indepth then myself . Have you run across many of the 10 gauge hammerless or top lever guns in barrel lengths other then 30 and 32 . I realize several of you already saw the #1 frame AH with the 26" barrels .

My 10 ga 6 frame gun has 34" barrels. I recall a Dh 3 frame gun in Vegas several yrs ago with 40" barrels. That is another one I kick myself for not buying!

Now that's a BIG gun!

Isn't that 40-incher the one shown in the back of The Parker Story being used by one of the charter members?

Default They all seem big to me!

Good question:
I have 7 short tens:
4 hammer guns are 30 inch
1 hammer gun is 32
1 hammerless is 30
1 hammerless is 25.25 but it was cut and was originally a 12 gauge- see my article in PP on the Parker Convertible.

I have a 10 gauge GHE with 36" barrels. See pictures on my Album. Sent barrels to have them rust blued by DelGrego . There are no records on the gun but I asked Larry to give me his opinion on length and chambers and he states they are correct. Chris refinished the wood, unfortunately the wood had been sanded prior to him getting it, and the forend of course is not original but he thinned it down and reshaped to my liking. Some day I will find an ejector forend 3 frame wood for it.
