Default serial number lookup?

Just curious to where you guys are find serial number info? I was looking at a VH grade with 107100, but cant figure out any info on it, it's listed as 26" inch barrels but that doesnt seem right for a #2 frame with IC chokes. I'm thinking 28" with cut barrels.

Rick, 107100 does not appear in the serialization book, however I checked and there are surviving records for a research letter.

But pay no attention to that $727.00 price in Amazon's ad. I have no clue where that comes from. The book usually retails for $34.99 - $39.99

Awesome, thanks guys, yeah that price tag was pretty shocking! Just in general is it common to have a #2 frame with 26" barrels, both barrels are choked IC. Has me thinking they may have been 28 with both barrels choked mod or full.

A 2 frame with 26" barrels is not common but there are a number of them out there. The barrels may well have been cut with original chokes as you suggest - that was a far more common configuration.
