Serial Number Help
A friend from church brought in a coupla very nice and interesting guns for me to look at after the meeting.
One is a Parker 20 gauge DHE, # 162169. I did not have a chance to take pictures, but I am asking in it is indeed a 1912 gun as my reference book claims?
The gun is in decent condition, barrels about 70%, action completely worn but sharp engraving; the gun is marked as having Titanic steel barrels. Looks like the barrels are 26 inches long (not measured), has very shootable dimensions, a rather plain but dinged up stock with a worn ?Silvers? pad. Ejectors seem to work but I had no snap caps.
So is #162169 a 1912 made gun?
He has 2 other guns he inherited from his dad, who was a US Army Col, wound up WW II as a Combat Command commander under Patton. One of the guns is a damascus barreled Parker, the other is a real stunner: about a 90% condition WW II Luftwaffe survival gun - a drilling, 12x12x9.73R, complete with original German case and cleaning equipment.
Both the butt and the barrels are marked with the Luftwaffe symbol.Totally original and untouched since WW II.
He also has a Waffen SS officer's uniform, whose owner did not need it any more, with only 2 holes in it.
What a treasure trove!!
